Algebra, Percentage Change and Equation Word Problems
It's great to see students regularly attending the centres, and it's a real privilege to work with them.
I'm fairly persuaded that one of the characteristics that indicates success is consistency. Every week focussing on the work, and getting it done to the very best of their ability.
Key Stage 2 (years 3 - 6)
It's good to see year 6 students, after a particularly busy SATS week, still focussing on getting ready for High School. One of the big four maths topics is 'algebra' - here's a starter sheet to get a little more familiar with this important topic.
The subject can be quite challenging ... always let us know if you need any support.
Key Stage 3 (years 7 - 9)
Percentage change questions are usually taught at around year 8. Here's a worksheet, answers and walkthrough video  to help revise, or learn a little, about this very popular and useful subject.
Key Stage 4 (years 10 - 11)
One of the hardest thing with maths ... is understanding the question. It can be quite difficult to 'extract the maths' and find an appropriate formula or mathematical relationship to use.
Here's a worksheet on solving word problems that might be useful.
Have a great week

PS. And finally, the joke of the day:
What starts with an 'e,' ends with an 'e,' but only has one letter?
An envelope.Â
