Jumbled, Substitution & a Tough Question
Hi
It's been a great week, and we're delighted that many students have achieved excellent SATS results. As soon as we know the final results - hopefully soon - we'll let you know.
In the meantime we're looking forward to encouraging year 5's & 10's to focus on their studies from September. Although, the summer promises to be busy, and I'll be aiming to update the 3minutemaths website ... mainly to focus on short, higher grade, GCSE videos. Is that a good idea? Any thoughts, ideas or comments always gratefully received.
Key Stage 2
Here's an interesting take on jumbled sentences ... one of the words isn't required. Can you rearrange, form the sentences and circle the additional word?
Key Stage 3
One of the core algebra skills is 'substitution' - calculating the answer to a formula, using the information that has been given.
Here's a worksheet - ideal for years 7 - 9 summer revision.
Key Stage 4
As mentioned a few weeks ago, just occasionally a student will ask a particularly difficult question ....
Here's a fairly challenging grade 7 (?) on indices. Watch this space for more 3minutemaths quick videos :-)
Looking forward to seeing you soon

PS. What does a gorilla learn in school? His Ape, B's, C's.
PPS. I hope you're enjoying these newsletters, and that the resources are useful ... I have very much enjoyed creating them for the past year, and plan to continue for a little while longer.
So - in the best traditions of keeping costs under control - I'm going to ask a favour. Amazon operate an affiliate scheme and, at no additional cost, I get a (very) small commission if you order anything through my affiliate link at 3minutemaths.
No problem at all if you have no plans to buy anything at this time - it's only a small request, and I'll keep working on some new materials. Coming soon ... sine (done!) / cosine rule, areas & volumes, intro to A level maths (coming soon!)
